As winter arrives, we long for the comfort of our homes due to the colder weather. In colder areas, it's important to add thermal activewear to our wardrobe to stay warm during outdoor activities. This is why fleece-lined leggings are cozy wardrobe essentials.
At Baleaf, we've meticulously designed our thermal and fleece-lined leggings using advanced fabric technology and incorporated modern features and stylish designs. Having them makes battling the cold weather a breeze. Giving them the proper T-L-C when washing helps them last from one season to the next.
What is thermal activewear?
Thermal activewear includes clothes meant to keep you warm in chilly weather. These items often use materials like thermal wool or fleece for excellent insulation. These clothes are often light and breathable to let you feel comfortable without the additional bulk winter clothing is infamous for.
Combat cold seasons with a thermal water-resistant jacket, a pair of thermal pocketed leggings, some base layers, or a water-resistant mid-layer vest to stay toasty and warm despite the snow or nippy winds.
Thermal leggings are a type of thermal activewear that keeps you warm in extremely cold weather. They are made with a layer of insulating fleece material to help maintain your body heat.
Baleaf offers women's fleece-lined leggings in different styles and lengths, crafted with premium thermal fabrics for superior warmth.
How are thermal leggings different from fleece-lined leggings?
Thermal leggings and fleece-lined leggings are both thermal activewear items designed for insulation, but they differ in their thermal properties.
Thermal leggings typically utilize thermal fabrics like wool or polyester for superior insulation although they may be slightly heavier than fleece-lined counterparts.
On the other hand, fleece-lined leggings offer thermal insulation and warmth while being generally lighter. Both types enhance outdoor activities, but for extremely cold conditions, thermal leggings are superior to fleece-lined leggings.
Why do we need fleece-lined leggings?
This soft, fuzzy cloth is durable, thermally efficient, and quick-drying. It was originally used to replace irritating wool and is now popular at outdoor events and even used by astronauts during spacewalks. Fleece is now making a stylish comeback in the form of leggings for runners and hikers all year round.
Fleece, a combination of wool and synthetic fibers, has air spaces that act as insulation. It can trap body heat better than traditional wool and other materials, making fleece leggings comfortable, warm, and fashionable.
Fleece-lined leggings have an extra layer of soft material sewn into the lining, ensuring warmth and comfort without sacrificing style. They're perfect for cooler weather and those who prioritize comfort over fashion. Fleece-lined leggings are great for outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and running, keeping you warm and dry without weighing you down.

How can we style our fleece-line leggings?
Styling fleece-lined leggings is easy.
Wear them with a sports bra and a long-sleeve activewear top for a simple yet stylish workout outfit.
To make a fashion statement for everyday wear, pair thermal leggings with chunky sneakers, an oversized hoodie, a sleek bun, and gold hoops. Winter clothing can be fashionable, too!
How do we wash our fleece-lined leggings?
Casual dressing has become popular for work, leisure, and workouts, but even with their flexibility, fleece-line leggings can still be worn out. Hence, we rounded up for you some simple tricks we can do to extend their lifespan.
Washing garments less frequently can extend their lifespan. Leggings can be worn three to four times before needing a wash if you haven't been sweating excessively or working out. The smell is the number one indicator.
For persistent odors, soak your leggings in a mixture of vinegar and cool water for 30 minutes before washing. Vinegar's properties can absorb odors and fight bacteria for a fresher clean.
Before you begin any kind of washing, please check the care label or guide given on your leggings. Certain manufacturers give specific ways on how to care for a garment.
Leggings usually have a lifespan of one to two years. When their elasticity diminishes, it's time to get a new pair.
Usually, fabrics with a smooth and shiny texture, like nylon or polyester, offer greater durability than cotton. They are also more resistant to chafing.
Turn your leggings inside out.
To preserve colors, turn your leggings inside out before putting them in the washing machine.
Use a mesh bag for the leggings.
Use a mesh washing bag to shield them from getting caught inside the machine's drum.
Use an activewear-based detergent.
Nowadays, manufacturers have made specific types of detergent for different fabrics. To combat problems of pilling and stretching, it's best to use an activewear-based detergent in washing fleece-lined leggings.
Set the machine on a gentle wash cycle.
Set at delicate cycle the machine. Use cool water and a low spin cycle to prevent shrinkage when washing leggings.
Also, avoid fabric softeners, especially if your leggings are made from moisture-wicking materials like spandex or polyester as most fabric softeners contain silicone that can diminish their moisture-wicking effectiveness.
Position them flat to air dry.
Dryers are a big 'no' when it comes to drying our cozy winter essentials.
To maintain the quality of your activewear, avoid using the dryer and opt for air-drying. The heat a dryer gives can damage the fibers in our beloved fleece-lined leggings, potentially causing permanent tears and holes.
When air-drying, position them flat to prevent stretching and maintain their elasticity.
Remove pills with a sweater comb.
Following wash instructions can't entirely prevent pilling as it also results from wear and tear.
Pilling tends to occur in high-friction areas, such as the inside of the leg if you run regularly. However, it's good to know that pilling is reversible by using a sweater comb to gently get rid of it. Remove the fuzz balls by gliding the sweater comb over the affected area in one direction.

Remember that thicker fabrics reduce the risk of leggings becoming see-through. It's essential to wear the right size as overly stretched leggings can also become transparent.
